As I’m going through each day here at WFX teaching classes, attending others and meeting with people constantly, I’m hearing some recurring themes. I want to capture and processes out loud here on my blog what they’re saying and what I’m thinking…
- “We have a big vision, but limited finances.” Yep. So the question is: Do you have a real, from-God vision or do you just have a good idea? As Andy Stanley says “An idea is what could be, but a vision is what should be.” And, when it’s a vision, here’s the kicker: God will fund it. If it’s an idea, it probably will struggle to be funded (time, people, equipment, money).
- “My pastor doesn’t understand what it is I/we do.” I would be shocked if he/she did. Because, if they really do it’s for one of two reasons – 1) They’ve done your job (well) or 2) you’ve built a relationship and educated them on why (most important) and what (but not how) it takes to do your job.
- “Which (insert brand name or model number here) should I use?” I dunno, but that’s irrelevant. Allow me to ask a different question back at you: “What do you need to do today, what will you need to do tomorrow, how many people are required to do it and how often will it need to be done?” When you can answer those questions, some options will rise to the top. When those options are identified, they’ll have budgets associated with them. Now you know (insert brand name or model number here).
What are you hearing or wondering about?
