Cash Money Referrals

08/01/08 | by Anthony D. Coppedge [mail] | Categories: Stuff from My Life

I gave a friend of mine a nice-sized check for doing something he does frequently: he referred me to a ministry and made the introduction that led to a project. While I get most of my work from referrals, I was recently teaching at a conference when I talked about 1 Timothy 5:18 and had the conviction to pay those who “work” for me by getting me work. Not everyone who refers me will accept a thank you “commission", but I felt like I ought to live up to that Scripture since I teach on it frequently.

It was a new thought for me to look at that scripture for referrals and wondered if you know people who do the same. I love it when I read God’s Word and I get something new out of a familiar passage!

Project Managers Needed

08/01/08 | by Anthony D. Coppedge [mail] | Categories: Announcements

I’m looking for a person who has a significant amount of project management experience and, if possible, be Microsoft Project certified. This is for a very large ministry (not a church) that’s needing someone to jump in immediately. Did I mention that this is located in East Texas and the person must be willing to relocate? Yes, I just did.

(insert grand, sweeping music and footage of tall pine trees, rolling hills and secluded lakes)

Located near Tyler, Texas, this ministry has several hundred acres and a large campus with over 1,000 people. Living in East Texas is best described as “good country livin’”. If you’re interested, shoot me an email.

Media Shout - bought by Don Moen

08/01/08 | by Anthony D. Coppedge [mail] | Categories: Announcements

I’m fairly certain that this will be the first place you hear this news (yes, I had permission to post this even though the press release won’t go out until next Monday): Don Moen’s company has bought Media Complete, the parent company of MediaShout! worship software. Don, legendary in the worship arts community, will be putting his personal vision into the direction of one of the largest installed bases of worship software which, I believe, is a very good thing indeed.

I’m excited to see one of the worship software leaders, MediaShout, headed up by Kevin Weimer, former Integrity Label Group VP, as the day-to-day manager. Don and Kevin are poised to take a fresh look at the landscape of worship software and potentially change up the PC side of things for churches everywhere.

Congrats to Don, Kevin and the team at Media Complete for embarking on a new day in worship software.

I attend and volunteer at Gateway Church in Southlake, TX and love it!

If I'm not at Gateway during a weekend, it's probably because I'm consulting with other churches across North America. I love what I do!

My consulting with churches is usually (but not always) based either on weekend trips, training staff & volunteers or on projects for technology design or upgrades. Most importantly, I love to equip, challenge and encourage the leaders and volunteers of the churches I'm privileged to work with.

It's not about the tech; it's about the people.
